Cannot activate my license, what to do?

If you don’t know how to activate your license, follow the instructions here.

If you have tried to activate your license and it failed, the plugin will display one of the error messages below. Here is what each message means and what you should do to solve it:

1. “Invalid license key.”

This usually means the license key you entered does not exist in our system.

Possible causes:

  • Typo (extra space, missing character, wrong key)
  • You entered an old or unrelated license
  • You entered your account password instead of the license key

What to do:

Copy/paste the license key exactly as shown in your purchase email or in your account, then try again.

2. “This appears to be an invalid license key for Advanced Database Cleaner.”

This means the key exists, but it does not match this specific product.

Possible causes:

  • You entered a license for another plugin
  • You entered a bundle key instead of the plugin-specific key
  • You entered a key from an older plugin no longer compatible with the Premium version

What to do:

Use the license key associated with Advanced Database Cleaner Premium exactly as shown in your account.

3. “Your license key has expired.”

Your license is no longer active because its renewal date has passed.

What to do:

Renew your subscription in your account to restore updates and activation.

4. “Your license key has been disabled.”

Your license was manually disabled on our side.

Possible causes:

  • A refund was issued (the license becomes disabled automatically)
  • A chargeback or disputed payment
  • A manual administrative action

What to do:

If you believe this is an error, please contact us and we will review your license.

5. “Your license key has been deactivated.”

You previously deactivated your license on this site or another site.

What to do:

Simply activate it again on the site where you need it.

6. “Your license key has reached its activation limit.”

You have used all activation slots allowed by your plan.

What to do:

Follow the instructions here to see where your license is currently active.

You can then deactivate it on old or unused sites, or upgrade your plan to get more activations.

7. “Your license is not active for this URL.”

The license exists, but it is not activated for the current website.

Possible causes:

  • The site was cloned or migrated
  • The domain changed (e.g., from staging to production)
  • A previous activation was lost

What to do:

Deactivate the license on old sites (via your account or inside the plugin), then activate again on the correct domain.

8. “The key you entered belongs to a bundle, please use the product specific license key.”

You entered a bundle key, not the license key assigned to Advanced Database Cleaner Premium.

What to do:

Use the plugin-specific license key found in your purchase email or account.

9. “An error has occurred, please try again.”

A general error occurred. It may be temporary.

Possible causes:

  • A network interruption
  • A temporary server issue
  • DNS or firewall blocking the request

What to do:

Try again later. If the problem persists, please contact us.
